A customer called this week to ask if they could have a copy on CD of a programme that we had produced for them in October 1988. We were able to locate the master in our archive in just a few minutes. It had been edited and mastered in low band Umatic, a long-since obselete video format. We fired up an old lowband machine, cleaned the heads, and were able to remaster the programme to a digital format. When compressed to 1/3rd screen size for CD-ROM, the picture quality looked OK (by today's standards it was pretty grainy at full screen ). So what did we think of it 19 years after we made it? Well the music was a product of it's time, and the graphics look basic, but the pace and the production values were good, with some excellent camera work. It was one of our first ever productions.
